Burton Street Proposed Lane Changes in 2012

The City of Grand Rapids plans to resurface Burton Street From Division to Eastern Avenues in Spring of 2012. Bike lanes are being proposed along with the conversion of Burton Street from the current 4 lane section to a a 3 lane section with a bike path. There will be a public neighborhood meeting at which project staff will explain more details about the project.

"Achieve" A Long Term Employment Program

Goodwill Industries has a new employment search program called Achieve that is designed to assist individuals in obtaining long -term employment. The program teaches how living a life based upon the ideas of responsibility, accountability, merit, perseverance, and stamina enables one to successfully achieve career and personal goals.

GiveCamp 2011

The weekend of October 21-23 was a busy one at The Geek Group Leonard Street Labs. Information Technology specialists donated 3 days of their time to help Non-profits complete projects. GPNA was one of the non-profits chosen for this event. The main effort accomplished for GPNA was a new website, implementing a content management system that simplifies mass-emails to our residents, volunteer and other online sign-up forms.
