OUR PRIORITIES

  • Organized and support Block Clubs, so that neighbors can be brought together to discuss and develop solutions to neighborhood concerns
  • Develop and strengthen the organization by providing leadership training to board members and developing ties to similar organizations throughout the city.
  • Build good working relationships with area churches, schools, agencies, and businesses to develop solutions to neighborhood issues.
  • Develop programs that address specific neighborhood concerns relation to crime, crime prevention, traffic and general neighborhood conditions.
  • Work with neighbors on special projects in response to neighborhood concerns.

ACTIVITIES IN YOUR COMMUNITY

  • Every Spring, GPNA coordinates an Easter Egg Hunt for area residents.
  • The Saturday after Labor Day in September is the date for GPNA's Arts & Crafts Fair. Artist and vendors come from all over the mid-west to sell their wares, and the event is regularly attended by over 10,000 people. This is the largest fund raiser for the Association.
  • GPNA awards its volunteer each year at its Volunteer Appreciation get together in November. All of the volunteers who have made all of our neighborhood improvement work and community events possible are recognize and applauded.
  • We have a close collaboration with the Krock Center to bring about a National Night Out, where the neighbors are encourage attend to the GPNA lodge and watch a movie in the early dusk.
  • At the end of October, GPNA begun a Spooky Night during Halloween. We distribute treats and create an fun environment for children under 12 years old.
