Happy New Year, Garfield Park Neighbors! For over 50 years, GPNA has been building relationships, partnerships, and initiatives. Read on to see why GPNA encourages all neighbors to make a monthly or annual donation to GPNA. It is a gift that keeps on giving to you and your neighbors all year round.
2024 was strong year for GPNA, thanks in large part to you. In 2024 we saw an increase in neighborhood interest across the board—from more volunteers serving on new committees, to an increased number of GPNA-area business contacts. 65% of donors last year were new donors. The GPNA email list grew, and the email ‘open rate’ increased to 50%. Connecting with more neighbors is a great way to close out the year. Thank you!
GPNA is riding this momentum right into 2025. Pictured above are representatives from five entities: your Neighborhood Association, your City, your County, one of your area Business Districts (Burton Heights), and one of your corridors (South Division-Grandville Corridor). We talked about traffic calming and how to promote investment in our South Side community. This kind of partnership is what GPNA loves to see—all of us pushing together.
In 2025, GPNA will continue to work with you and for you. You and your household can also work to deepen your relationship with your neighborhood. Here’s a few ideas to get you started:
- Become a monthly or annual giver
- Encourage your neighbors or your block to sign up for this email newsletter
- Join a GPNA resident led committee
- Follow GPNA on Facebook for more connection to area events and resources
- Shop local!
Our days are slowly getting longer and we are heading for summer. Until then, stay warm and stay hopeful, GPNA!
